Diva Visions Celebrate First Year Anniversary and International Women’s Month in Style With Celebrity-Studded Event at The Strand Palace Hotel

East London’s leading women’s business club, Diva Visions, hosted an afternoon tea event last month to celebrate their first year anniversary. Local celebrities and inspirational entrepreneurs wore elegant attire for the fancy affair, which also celebrated International Women’s Month at the West End’s Strand Palace Hotel.

More than 90 women spent the afternoon socialising and networking whist enjoying afternoon tea, coffee and champagne served amongst a beautiful display of scones and cupcakes.  The women, many of whom own successful businesses in their own right, were left captivated by the inspirational testimonies of speakers, including serial entrepreneur and PR guru, Mavis Amankwah, MOBOs founder Kanya King MBE, entrepreneurs Lorna Stewart and Lola Owolabi, award-winning international make-up artist Eryca Freemantle and actress Ellen Thomas.

Rosemary Chileshe, multiple business owner and Managing Director of Rosellis Property Services Ltd, said, ‘What I loved about the event was that it brought a different range of powerful women in their own right together. Everyone made a real effort which was displayed in both dressing for the theme and in attendance.’

Mavis Amankwah, founder and CEO of Diva Visions added, ‘I felt extremely proud on this day, not only to be an achieving woman, but because the Diva Visions gives recognition to women all over the world for International Women’s Month.  I am thrilled to be part of a forum where us women can come together and celebrate our achievements.’

Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. A global web of rich and diverse local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through to local women’s craft markets, theatric performances, fashion parades and more. The messages given at these events often focus on themes such as innovation, the portrayal of women in the media, or the importance of education and career opportunities.
